Why Can’t You Do It? Why Can’t You Have That?

Lately, my life has become quite extraordinary compared to many other people I know—and I mean this in a positive way. My life resembles a fun roller coaster, an adventure full of pleasure and happiness. I have a great job, I speak 8 languages, and I am one of the happiest people in the world. There are many other achievements I could list here that many people would say, “Wow, that’s special!” At the same time, I’m thinking, “What else can I do?” and “What else do I want to do?” And since I’m still alive and kicking, I might as well continue progressing to new heights.

Here, I reflect on how I got to where I am in life. On one hand, it took some effort to get here. On the other hand, now that I’m here, I’m certain that this isn’t as extraordinary or difficult as it may seem, and many more people could reach similar or even greater heights. As such, I wonder what makes me so special and what I did differently compared to other people who want similar results.

In the end, I feel it comes down to this one question already mentioned in the title of this blog post, my consideration of “Why can’t I do it?” or “Why can’t I have that?” I mean, realistically speaking, if one person achieved a certain goal in life, then other people can do so too. This is especially true if there are many people in the world who share similar life achievements. So, why can’t you do it too?

I live by the mantra, “I only live once,” so I want to do it all, and I will try it all. Here, I have some limits in my thinking, such as wanting to be financially well-off so I can always do whatever I want. In other words, I don’t need all the money in the world, and I don’t want to rule the world, but I want to live a comfortable lifestyle. So, why can’t I have that? I can, and so I do.

I make similar observations for any other achievement in life that I’m aiming for next. For example, one client asked me, “Why can’t I afford a house?” They certainly can, and therefore, they shortly purchased one. I, too, want many different things and I ask myself, “Why can’t I have that?”

This question starts an interesting paradigm shift, as often the only reason we don’t have something is that we don’t truly believe we can have it. As such, if we’ve never had something, it makes us wonder whether we can have it, which is the first step towards limiting thinking that prevents us from moving forward. In other words, we are our own worst enemies, and whether we think we can or we can’t, it becomes the truth.

In this way, the first step to having anything is believing that we can have it in the first place. The question “Why can’t I have it?” puts everything in perspective, as more often than not, there are no good reasons for not being able to achieve a certain goal. After all, just a few years ago, we didn’t have things that we have today, so by the same logic, we can have everything we want in the future.

The trick, however, is to be faster in achieving certain goals, as the more we achieve, the more we can achieve next. It is incremental growth, and most of the work has to be done internally.

As always, I wrote the above text not to gloat, as science teaches us that egoistic people are known to be unhappy, while altruistic people are happy. So, as one of the happiest people on the planet, I tell my story as inspiration to others to let them know that they too can have similar results. I know that many people aren’t at the same place as I am, and for them, my life is a dream. At the same time, I ask, “Why can’t you have the same?” You can, and if you want, you can have it too.

In fact, it is easier and more accessible than you may think. For example, if you want to also be one of the happiest people in the world, all you need to do is take my happiness coaching, which you can start today by using the following link: https://calendly.com/optimal-happiness/intake.

As for the rest of your goals, you can have that. So, tell yourself that it’s possible, that you can do it, and that you will have it. Enjoy the wonderful adventure that is life.

Stay happy.
