A song by Adele states, “I want to live and not just survive,” speaking to a common sentiment that many people share, as they want to live a happy life rather than just going through the motions. In reality, they are tired of just struggling to stay above water and merely survive, when what they truly desire is to thrive.
After all, Aristotle states that happiness is the #1 goal in life, suggesting that a good life is a happy life. I second that sentiment, as today I am one of the happiest people alive, enjoying every second of it all. I mean, I have problems, just like everyone else, but I know how to deal with them and remain happy despite these challenges.
Also, my happiness becomes like a guiding compass that directs me towards where I need to go and what I want to do. In other words, I don’t just exist and I’m not passive or unproductive, as some people accuse happy people of being. In fact, I’m more productive than ever, focusing my attention on things that really bring me and others the most benefit, wasting very little of my time. I have become laser-focused on my goals, my reason for being alive, and what I want to achieve during my lifetime.
In this way, happiness provides a solution to the issues of “surviving” and “living a good life,” as people no longer simply exist day-by-day, waiting for life to happen because they feel obligated to do so. Instead, we are thriving, as we live a life full of happiness, amazing adventures, and child-like enthusiasm, making life non-stop fun.
The best part is that virtually anyone can learn to do the same, which is the main focus of this blog, I call Optimal Happiness.
