Gym is Happiness

gym is happiness

Today, my back was hurting me, and as a result, I couldn’t think straight, do the things that I wanted to do, and I wasn’t very happy. In fact, my back has been hurting me for a few days already, and I tried many different things to mitigate this hurt, including but not limited to sleeping extra, using an acupuncture mat, going for long walks, visiting a chiropractor, going to a sauna, and eating healthier. However, as you may have guessed, none of these things helped me completely.

As such, in desperation, I considered taking another nap, when I realized that I haven’t been to the gym for a week already. So, even though my head and body were hurting me, I forced myself to the gym and let me tell you, it helped!

I shouldn’t have been surprised by this, as I already know after several occasions that this is the case, as in the madness of business, which is life, I just forgot about the gym, even though I wrote that I had to go on my to-do list.

Here it is probably worth mentioning that I usually try to go to the gym on a regular basis, at least 2 or 3 times per week, and while for most people, their bodies hurt from extra activity due to their sedentary lifestyles, my body often hurts when I don’t do enough sports. This suggests to me that most people who are experiencing physical or mental pain, cloudiness, or fatigue may not be doing enough sports overall.

In this way, health is happiness, as your happiness is often proportional to how healthy you are. Respectfully, gym is happiness because weight lifting has been said to be one of the surest ways to make your telomerase grow bigger and therefore reverse aging. Sure, there are other sports or physical exercises we can and should be doing, but the gym offers the right amount of pressure on the body that almost no other sport completely gives to the body.

Being fit makes us look good, gives us energy, makes us flexible, capable, and releases endorphins, which are known as one of the essential happiness chemicals.

Sure, there are pros and cons, of course, to going to the gym, which I’m not going to discuss here. Still, I know for a fact that the vast majority of the population isn’t doing enough physical activity, and the vast majority of the population is also depressed. I personally think there is a connection, and extensive research, which I also not going to discuss here, confirms that this is the case.

Overall, the gym isn’t the only pillar of happiness, as there are other factors that affect our well-being and therefore happiness, so even the most fit person in the world can be depressed. However, it is also true that we all need to do some physical exercise to be happy, which in other words means that we have to have a balanced life.

So, let me ask you whether you are doing enough physical exercise lately? If not, perhaps you should consider a gym subscription or some other sports activity, as having a subscription almost certainly forces you to go there.

“The problem is that of optimization,” states Roman Russo, author of Optimal Happiness: The Fastest & Surest Way To Reach Your Happiest Potential. There is plenty of advice on how to be happier or less sad, but no one is speaking about how to become the happiest we can be. And this is the difference that makes all the difference. By not looking at our maximum potential for happiness, we fall short of achieving it. After all, we all have hundreds of ideas on how to be happier or less sad, but most people still feel like they are not living their best lives. As such, Optimal Happiness explores the question of how to be the happiest we can be, regardless of who we are, where we are from, and what our life circumstances are. It proposes a complete and unconditional formula for happiness and explains how you too can become happy today and forever, inviting you to join the 1% happiness elite and become one of the happiest people alive.
