You’ve Been Lied To, So You Are Unhappy

false-happiness

If you are unhappy today, it is because, in many respects, you are living your life incorrectly or inefficiently. In other words, you have been purposefully or inadvertently misled from living your best life. The result is that most of my clients are complaining that they are unhappy, not fully understanding that it isn’t necessarily their fault for being unable to figure out a complex social puzzle that often ends in unhappiness.

For example, most people know that smoking is harmful to them, yet 1/8 of the population of Earth smokes. This roughly equates to 1 billion people who have been misled, and now their life quality is reduced due to the act of smoking. It is interesting to note that some of these individuals will fight to maintain their smoking habit, even if it is detrimental to their health, justifying it as enhancing some aspects of their lives, when in reality, it takes more than it gives.

The same can be said about many products, situations, and ways of thinking, such as consuming fizzy drinks, which contain unhealthy amounts of sugar, preservatives, chemicals, and colorants. Yet the vast majority of people consume these drinks daily.

Naturally, there are countless products like this that all contribute to eroding our well-being, ultimately guaranteeing our unhappiness unless we pause and reevaluate our choices. Ultimately, it is our decision how we spend our time, money, and energy, but there is a scarcity of accurate information available, with much of it distorted to the point where people are utterly lost and therefore unhappy.

Personally, I experienced serious depression around the age of 25, which prompted me to question everything. One of the first products that angered me were these boxed juices that claimed to be “natural, good for health, with many vitamins,” yet later, I discovered this was just the tip of the iceberg.

In my opinion, we have been deceived by the incorrect information prevalent in society, with little effort made to provide accurate information or to shift the status quo to where it should be. People have been indoctrinated to believe that the current society is somehow perfect, and alternative approaches are not pursued, despite research indicating that our lives could drastically improve if we were willing to explore new possibilities.

And who misled you? Your families, society, and marketing did, as your family, unaware of better alternatives, often perpetuates the social norms and misinformation, with few individuals dare to think differently. Moreover, society is driven by corporate marketing interests focused on profits above all else. Thus, if something sells, it’s assumed to be beneficial, as somehow markets just know better, even though many problems and resulting social issues are connected to capitalism in various ways.

Nonetheless, happiness is still possible, as I managed to overcome profound depression to become one of the happiest individuals by questioning everything and striving to find a better way. I refer to this superior approach as Optimal Happiness, the central theme of this blog, where I finally answer what happiness is and how to achieve this seemingly elusive state/goal. I encourage you to delve deeper into my writing and explore our other offerings, such as our happiness coaching.

Stay happy.
