A healthy body is a happy body. This being said, I see a lot of people violating simple health guidelines, and later stating that they are unhappy. It is a mystery indeed. With this, I decided to write down my basic health guidelines which help me optimize my physical happiness.
Most diets work, at least in the short-term. We can even eat unhealthy foods and look healthy and happy in the short-term. However, in the long-term, eating unhealthy can lead to a range of health related complications, which will affect our happiness.
I am not a nutritionist, but since there is a strong connection between health and happiness, I wrote a lot on this topic, such as the 8 Superfoods of Happiness. My overall advice is that everyone should be aware of what they are putting in their bodies if we want to achieve our peak physical happiness.
Gym is therapy for our body, but also our mind. As such, we are not designed to be seated for extensive periods of time, as most people do in the modern world, which leads to a range of health complications. Therefore, we need to exercise on a regular basis, which will lead to positive physical and mental health benefits.
I consider myself quite a healthy individual, as I do a lot of things correctly in terms of my long-term health, such as the already mentioned healthy diet and physical exercise. However, even I feel like I need something extra to keep my physical happiness at its peak, and this extra is an acupuncture mat.
I wrote extensively about the benefits of acupuncture on our health and happiness in my previous article. In short, this mat is like a yogi’s nail mat, which is used a lot in India. However, modern day acupuncture mats are specifically designed for people like you and me who are not necessarily yogis. I use this mat as often as every second day and I promise you it helps me a lot, and it can help you, too.
Acupuncture mats give you a sort of massage, which reaches deep tissues, making our body relax on a wider level. However, acupuncture mats can’t replace a real massage. A good masseur (or masseuse) can do wonders to your body, which is probably why every professional sports team has a team of physiotherapists massaging its players on a regular basis.
Still, we don’t need to have a professional masseur if we are not doing sports professionally. We can just learn to do it ourselves, or ask our partner to help us out on a semi-regular basis. In the end, I recommend doing both, to massage and to use an acupuncture mat.
To keep my articles PG-friendly, I often refer to sex with different words, such as “companionship,” which we need in our lives. Of course, there is a lot to say about what kind of partner we want to choose in our lives, such as a long-term partner beats short-term pleasure, but this is a topic for a different conversation. Here, we are only exclusively interested in the physical benefits of companionship.
We need to grow up and stop making jokes about sex. As human beings, we all need it in our lives on a semi-regular basis. Failure to establish a stable and loving relationship can lead to a range of unhealthy behaviors, such as frustration, watching porn, and looking for companionship in dangerous situations, such as with people who we don’t know. Conversely, there are many benefits to stable and regular companionship, such as satisfying our desires on a deeper, almost spiritual level.
I see happiness as a formula and a puzzle, whereas if we put the correct pieces together, we will be happy. If we don’t, happiness will be that much difficult. As such, it helps to get familiar with different elements of happiness, such as our physical happiness, as described above. Still, happiness is not only physical, which is why I invite you to get familiar with the complete happiness formula in my new book called Optimal Happiness and become the happiest version you deserve to be.
